Content strategy that brings your brand to life through compelling web copy, blogs, newsletters, videos and annual reports. Here are just some examples of how I can handle your story.
Edmonton Public Library Annual Report 2021
Using statistics and direction from EPL’s team, I wrote copy telling the library’s 2021 story in their annual report: Connecting Communities. A background in journalism and research comes in handy when teasing the thread out of spreadsheets and facts.
2020-2021 Annual Report
One of the oldest societies on the coast, the Gitxaala territories stretch from the Nass river to Aristazabal Island on the north coast of what is now called British Columbia. I wrote this annual report using reports and statistics from the Gitxaala First Nation’s departments.
A full web copy update for Versatile Concrete meant working closely with the owner of this unique artisan concrete shop. After the web refresh we continued to work together on blogs and press releases.
In this case study for Kimco Controls, a client whose website I updated the copy for and regularly write the blog of, I dig into the problems and solutions for creating a more sustainable learning centre: Mar Jok Elementary in West Kelowna.
Keeping things quirky, relatable and fun is one of my specialties, whether that’s on your homepage, like in this example for Rocky Mountain Soap Company’s limited edition Summertime collection, or over email and social media.
The Crush Collective is a non-profit climbing crew on Treaty 7 territory in what is also called Banff, Alberta, that aims to lower barriers to climbing for everyone. Using a design and template set for me by a designer, I wrote this website, as well as determined the navigation and image selection for most of the pages.
Working in-house as content strategist and copywriter for two years at a skincare company means you have to always ask yourself: how can I show people we’re different? For this blog, I got on the phone to P.E.I. with the farmer who provides a star ingredient so he could share his passion with our audience and show the human side of where ingredients come from.
The outdoors are a passion of mine, so it’s always fun to share the stories of an amazing family-run sports store like Fresh Air Kelowna. I regularly contribute to their blog as well as write press releases and web copy for the brand.
For two years I decided direction of Rocky Mountain Soap Company’s newsletter based on retail objectives, managed the content calendar, wrote copy and worked collaboratively with the graphic designers and web team. I honed the ability to tell a story in as few words as possible like in this example, that speaks to switching to all natural hair care by highlighting ingredients.
While working on a fundraising campaign for Oneball, a unique and spunky (har har) charity that aimed to provide resources to people with testicular cancer and their caregivers, I had the chance to not only make a lot of great puns, but build and design the campaign emails in Mailchimp.
