The 72-year old Ogilvy bagpiping tradition came to an end on September 27, 2017, when the downtown Montreal’s Ogilvy department store decided to “respectfully move on to relevant and new traditions.”

I went to the ceremony, gathered tape and edited this soundscape for Homerun, CBC Montreal’s afternoon radio show. The host of Homerun is Sue Smith.

After overdoses land two men in hospital, the provincial government announces that Naloxone – the opiate overdose antidote – will soon be available in Montreal pharmacies free of charge. I join Sue Smith in studio with the story.
